Last year we had another opportunity to spend some time exploring South Korea.  My favorite places to visit are all the traditional Arts and Crafts cities and villages. These beautiful papers were purchased in Insadong, near Seoul.  I saw the most amazing stores with lots of traditional Arts and Crafts.  The streets were filled with beautiful paper stores, tea houses, antiques stores, calligraphy and brushes, fans and pottery.  I decided to use some of the paper to create layered paper rings.  Each ring is made out of layered paper glued together then sanded down with a coat of sealer to protect it.  I loved the look of the different colors in the paper after sanding it down a bit. I was originally going to paint the inside but ended up loving the look of the papers showing through.  The sealer really brought out the colors of the paper and the layers really popped.  This is definitely a project I will try again and experiment with different papers, textures and sealers.
